Overview
What Transport & Getting Around involves
Getting to and from school, work or around your community can be difficult if you are not able to drive or use public transport because of your disability.
If transport is funded in your NDIS plan, you can access assistance with travel arrangements. We provide transport that is scheduled in advance so you know what to expect.

Who It's For
We can help you get to
- School or another educational facility
- Work
- Your doctor or other medical appointments
- Your local shopping centre
- Places around your community

How We Help
How we help with transport support
Each area below is set out separately, so you only need to read the parts that matter to you.
How our transport works
Transport is arranged in advance, so you always know who is picking you up and when. Trips can be one-off or part of a regular weekly routine.
- A Help on Wheels team member drives you to your destination and takes you home again
- Trips are booked on an ongoing basis, such as a weekly shop or regular appointments
- Support with transfers and equipment where you need it
Alongside the drive
A drive is rarely just a drive. Our workers use the time to build your confidence with travel and to connect you with places you would like to visit again.
- Connection to activities and places in the wider community
- Support to build travel confidence and skills over time
- Help understanding how the NDIS works so you can make informed choices
Getting Started
How we work with you
Support only works when it is built around the person receiving it. Before anything begins, one of our registered nurses sits down with you — and anyone else you want in the room — to understand your goals, your routine and how you like things done.
From there we write it down in plain language, introduce you to the workers who suit you, and keep checking that the arrangement still fits. Nothing is locked in, and you can change your mind as you go.
- An unhurried first conversation about what you need and what your plan can fund
- A written support plan, with workers matched to your routine and preferences
- Regular reviews with nursing oversight, so your support changes when your needs do
